This K'NEX periscope will help you to look over walls!
It can be built using:
1. A K'NEX Base kit
2. Two plastic mirrors, each 148x105mm (5.9x3.9 inch approx.)
Note that, for safety reasons, glass mirrors must NOT be used.
We bought our mirrors from a UK company called Rapid Electronics (product code 48011).
First, assemble the twenty four 3D connectors shown in the photo opposite.
Please visit Handy Hint A4 if you need help to do this.
insert one of the mirrors into the frame
and secure the mirror in place with four white rods, as shown.
and attach the two mirror frames together with grey rods.
Note that the mirrors must face in opposite directions, as shown.
Finally, wrap some good-quality paper around the central section of your periscope, as shown.
This will reduce the amount of light entering the periscope.
To test your periscope:
1. Find a wall or other object that is too tall for you to see over.
2. Hold your periscope so that the top mirror is above the wall, as shown.
3. Look into the bottom mirror.
