It can be built using:

1. A K'NEX Base kit…

2. The K'NEX gears shown in the photo

First, assemble the six 3D connectors shown in the photo opposite.

Please visit Handy Hint A4 if you need help to do this.

Then, build the base…

…add six white rods…

…build the second layer…

…add onto the base…

…and add the upper section of the base.

Now assemble the vertical drive shaft…

…and add it into the base.

Next, assemble the horizontal drive shaft…

..and add that into the base as well, so that the yellow and blue gears mesh.

Build the centre part of the top section…

..and assemble 8 "swing rides".

Now attach the swing rides to the top section…

..and complete the model by attaching the top section to the base, secure by a purple clip.

Testing

To test your carousel, turn the handle until the carousel is spinning quite quickly, and then release.
