Hint M3 - Mains-powered motor
This motor is powered from the mains via a 12v adaptor, and is also supplied with a special white gear wheel. The motor is ideal for situations where you need maximum power, or where you want to have a K'NEX model running for long periods of time.

K'NEX shop If you wish to obtain your own mains adaptor locally to power the motor, we are advised that the adaptor specification is as follows: Output voltage: 12V DC Output current: 500mA or more Output plug: Minimum length 10mm (3/8 inch), Outer diameter 5.5mm (7/32 inch) approx., Inner diameter 2.1mm (5/64 inch) approx. Input voltage: As per local requirements (eg USA is 120v 60Hz)
To attach the motor, first push rods through the two holes in the underside of the motor so as to connect it to the model, as shown.
Then place an axle across the front of the motor, so that the teeth of the white gear wheel engage with the worm gear on the motor shaft.
