The 92815 K'NEX 12v motor is driven by a mains adaptor. Different adaptors are available for the US, the UK, and mainland Europe.
Adaptors are available in two different versions, one of which drives the motor clockwise, and the other of which drives the motor anticlockwise, depending on whether the plug that fits into the motor is "centre positive" or "centre negative".
This does not matter very much for a model such as a K'NEX Ferris wheel. However, if the 12v motor is being used to drive the car-carrying chain on a roller coaster such as the original 63030 K'NEX Roller coaster, then the direction that the motor turns is critical to the operation of the model.
If you find the when you have built your 63030 roller coaster that the motor is turning the wrong way, it is relatively easy to modify the way the motor is fitted into the model to correct the problem.
The first photo shows the standard method of attaching a 12v motor to the 63030 Roller coaster (page 10 of the instruction book).
This second photo shows how to modify the motor housing, so that the motor sits on the opposite side of the white gear wheel, thereby rotating the black axle in the opposite direction.
