NEW - Building Simple Robots with K'NEX, Kid K'NEX and Lego Duplo

Purpose of workshop: To demonstrate how K'NEX, Kid K'NEX and Lego Duplo can be used for building simple robots, so as to meet the needs of the Design & Technology curriculum at Key Stages 1 and 2.

Who is the workshop for: All teachers and support staff at Key Stages 1 and 2.

Prior knowledge required: No prior experience with K’NEX or Duplo is required, and you definitely do not need to be "good at technology"!

Workshop content: The agenda is as follows:

1. Presentation - An introduction to building simple robots with K'NEX, Kid K'NEX and Lego Duplo.

2. Practical session - Build a Kid K'NEX robot and a Duplo robot.

3. Presentation - Using Make'n'Go and the Egg-Box to build simple radio-controlled and programmable robots.

4. Practical session - Build a K'NEX robot.

Each delegate will take home free samples of K'NEX and Kid K'NEX, and copies of the seminar slides.

Practical sessions: Delegates will work in small groups for the practical sessions, which are designed to be light-hearted and enjoyable as well being informative.

Cost: Typical costs are £95 for a 90-minute workshop, and £195 for a half-day workshop, in both cases plus expenses and VAT.
