The motor we recommend for the K'NEX 52-model set is the K'NEX Battery Motor Blue, though any K'NEX motor of similar shape would be suitable
As can be seen from the photo, the motor has:
♦ a hole though the motor, into which any longer K'NEX rod can be pushed
♦ a switch on the top, allowing clockwise or anticlockwise rotation of the rod
♦ four projecting lugs on each side of the motor, which fit snugly into a white K'NEX connector, allowing the motor to be connected to a K'NEX model
Hint M4 provides more infomation on this type of motor, including an explanation of how to install the batteries.
The instructions below may Downloaded if you prefer (.PDF 0.5Mb).
To build the base of the motorised car:
♦ Fix a white connector to either side of the motor
♦ Push a yellow rod right through the white connectors and motor (you will need to push quite hard)
♦ On each end of the yellow rod, add a tan interlocking clip facing outwards
♦ Add the other parts as shown in the photo
Hint W4 provides more infomation about the use of tan interlocking clips to connect wheels to rods.
Finally, add four wheels, and four K'NEX Clip with Hole end Purple as shown, to hold the wheels in place.
Then test your motorised car, forwards and backwards.
