Hint S5 - Roller coaster track

K'NEX has an unrivalled reputation as the best construction kit for building model roller coasters. Over the years, three different types of roller coaster track have been provided, which are shown below.

All the parts listed below are available in our online K'NEX shop.

The first type of roller coaster track is made from orange split tubing, as shown in the photo opposite. The tubing is the correct diameter to fit inside the rim of the medium K'NEX pulley. This allows roller coaster cars to be built to a range of designs, such as the one in the photo opposite.		Hint S5 - Roller coaster track
Usage The orange tubing is usually attached to K'NEX models via the gold connector or the gold splice shown in the photo opposite.

If possible, all gold connectors should to be attached to gold 128mm rods, as shown in the top photo. Gold rods are designed to ensure that the gold connectors remain at the very end of the rod, even after repeated use, thereby ensuring that the track width does not vary.
The second type of roller coaster track, made from blue or red split tubing, is shown in the photo opposite.

Special "Large roller coaster cars" were designed to fit this track.

The track is attached to models via the light green co-cross ties shown in the photo.		Type 2
Type 3 The third type, "Micro K'NEX Coaster track", is supplied in lengths of flexible double track, which can easily be bent and twisted to form any design of roller coaster.

The track can be attached directly to most Micro K'NEX connectors.

Micro Coaster cars are available in a range of colours to run on this track.
